[Story Tag 2b: Blown Away]

I, too, loved the first one but...

...I thought the point of this particular animation, ie Story Tag, was that you and Gel took turns on portions of this story so that the outcome was only clear when you both finished it. I really thought that that was what this was all about.

Don't get me wrong, I thought this was very humorous and well animated. It just seems that you and Gel abandoned the concept between part 1 and 2 of this series. Or am I really thick headed? Um, don't answer that...

You are absolutely right about the Story Tag concept but yes, the confusing thing about this movie is that it is not a Story Tag at all. It's not that we abandoned that concept, we just haven't finished any recently, but this movie is somewhat of an anomaly. The Story Tags usually stay fairly simple, and don't have elaborite emerging plots, exciting, detailed characters, etc. But when gel started Story Tag 2 he drew up characters from an existing clay animation of ours simply as a joke. I continued to add existing characters and a sort of functional story started to miraculously develop! In the end, it played out more like a planned movie than an actual Story Tag. We decided it was getting so long and would take forever to finish along that path so we submitted it as "part one". When it got such a good response I decided maybe it would be best to finish it "for real". Many people, including ourselves were curious to see how the story would play out, but it wouldn't be nearly as coherent if it was to be done Story Tag style. Quite some time later, I had a finished product... but what to call it? The best choice, albeit a confusing one, is "Blown Away: Story Tag 2 part 2" Since that's really what it is: the sequel to Story Tag 2. I'm sad to see it's chances of daily feature getting trampled by some 3D eye candy (you evil dog, you). I really put every last minute of my free time into this movie for several months, and I'm very proud of it.

Nice idea...

I for one am a big fan of Dave Thomas and was slightly dissappointed with his absence from the toon you made. I understand that the way you animated this toon is the style you were going for, and I can't really understand why others are putting you down for your lack of animation on the figures. Santa was frickin' hilarious.

BUT...

What I can't stand is your refutes of others' reviews. Grab a sack of maturity and get over yourself. You gotta admit that there is a tonne of stuff better than your stuff, not that you were trying to make something better than the best submission, and that there are people who are just not going to like what you did. Lots of entertainment critics aren't movie makers or dancers but just regular folks who like to be entertained. Not everyone on Newgrounds is an animator, but they do like toons, and they know what they like. Lighten up....

Yes, they know what they like. That doesn't mean they should use the reviewing process as a discussion board of name calling, and generally useless comments.

And believe me friend, I know a thing or two about taking criticism. I've been making short films for nearly five years.

I've only ever submitted one Flash movie (so far and just recently) and I really love the frame by frame stuff. I'm curious about this WACOM tablet...is it expensive and how easy is it to use...let me know.

well first of all check out www.wacom.com :D They're a bit pricey but it's definately worth it. I've only had it for 2 days and already I love it and know how to use it! It's easy and awesome! I suggest one for everyone! they range from 100 - 1,000 dollars...i picked a mid-range one ;D. Payce!

For a guy (girl?) who wants honest example-bearing reviews, you sure try to steer everyone to the 5 button. Must be insecure, I think.
There's a simple reason why you get into the top 5 everyday. You're a clock. And unfortunately when the rest of your cult, er sorry, crew sees another clock movie on Newgrounds they automatically vote 5. That is the only reason. It doesn't take a lot of talent to do motion tweens, gif scans, use other peoples music, and visit pbs.com to steel Magic School Bus images.
Grow up. I don't like your movies (so far) because of my personal taste. I just think the whole clock thing isn't very insightful or entertaining. Just too bad you're too insecure to accept that there are people who aren't into that sort of thing. Here's a tissue.

no, i say vote 5 cuz that's an inside joke of humor for the clock crew. Vote how ever you feel, but notice a lot of clocks say "vote 5" - I did that and the "end" thing just cuz it didn't belong there. I do not feel the fact that I'm a clock gets me into top 5 everyday, if that was true, then I wouldn't have good reviews from "non-clocks" and if that was true, other clocks wouldn't feel like it's unfair they've never been in top 5. That "theory" you posted is just you running your mouth. It's not the only reason, your just ignorant. You hate the clock thing, so you automaticly hate me. AND Then you protest about Clocks who love the clock thing - so vote automaticlly. You are doing the exact same thing, EXCEPT you vote based on hate instead of love. I never saw a person bitch so much over a review. Just because I don't have a movie on Newgrounds doesn't mean I don't know Flash. If you don't want your movies panned don't put pieces of crap on the web (ie, Army of Blam and this one). Your just asking for everyones opinion when you do that. The actual animation (frame by frame) looked good but amidst all the gif scans it just looked unproffesional. Not that you're a proffesional because you have conveyed that with the way you respond to critisizm. Hey, I may have no movies on Newgrounds but at least I'm not a cry baby bitch!

First I didn't cry, really the opposite - I just laughed at you. And you call these "reviews". You call this critisicm. BUT in a review, in critisicm - you state why and why not you liked/disliked it. You just ran your mouth - you stated that you enjoy blamming clock movies in the beginning of the review, so it's hard for me to believe you went in with an open mind. Second - if this is "crap" as you say it then why does this and Army Of Blam get in top 5. I can respond to critisicm, and I can handle my movies getting panned. But saying "this is crap" isn't critisicm. You call me "unproffessional" when your the immature one who runs his mouth w/o citing examples. Here's an example now "... don't put pieces of crap on the web..." hmmmm, interesting. Why is it crap? Just shows your matturity level. You can cuss but you can't give examples.
